Vasiliki Papagianni was born in Larissa at 1927. As a teenager, he was member of the National Unity of Resistance (EAM). When she was twenty five years old, she studied Economic and Political Studies at the Aristotetle University of Thessaloniki and she returned in Larissa, where she got married the lawyer Stauros Papagiannis and lived for the rest of her life with him in Larissa.
She made her debut in Greek arts and letters around 1952. Many short stories of her have been published in national literary magazines “Epitheorisi Texnis”, “Anti”, “Nea Estia”, “Themata Logotechnias”, “Elitrochos” and others. Her experiences, during foreign occupation and Thessalian Resistance as well as the general dominating “provincialism”, were her first material for her novels, short stories and fiction stories.
Vasiliki Papagianni is proliferate writer and one of the most important contemporary Greek writers. Her work is characterized by clarity, realism, the ability to analyze the psychology of her book characters in a unique manner, her fine usage of Greek language.
Her books have been published and they are available in Greek language.
