Psychiatrist, Makis Lachanas, was born in Larissa at 1924. Historian, Sotiris Pastakas described him as the literary twin of photographer Takis Tloupas.
Makis Lachanas is a very important literary figure of Larissian and Greek letters. He was editor of the literary journal “Sparmos” and a real intellectual; a restless mind, a man of vision. He was critical and very radical concerning the socio cultural practices of Larissa, very often this attitude reached him in the boundaries of eclecticism. He was distinguished for his translations of great German literary men works.
He wrote and presented theatrical prose in Larissa. He also exhibited paintings of him with success. There is, a lot of anecdotal work of Makis Lachanas which is referred to Larissa and its citizens.
He wrote many novels and prose works that are already published and they are available only in Greek language.
