Civilizing Educative Association of Neapoli "Pelasgos"
The Civilizing Educative Association of Neapoli "Pelasgos" was founded in Larissa in 1976. Its purpose is the maintenance of our cultural heritage, tradition and its transmission to the new generations.
In its 32 years of operation, tries to rescue and project the manners and the customs of our country, the traditional dance, the song and in general the Greek tradition. Its sign is "TIED UP WITH THE TRADITION" and with respect in it, the children that compose it, are taught except the dances and the history, the folklore and the particular characteristics of each region.
In "Pelasgos" function six dancing groups for children of all rungs and an adult team which represents it in all the events that is called to participate. In its wardrobe are existing more than 200 costumes, most of which are authentic or true copies, with all the accessories, such as shoes and jewels.
The association participates actively in cultural happenings of the city and has taken part in events-festival inside and outside the Prefecture. With its chorus, it has participated in festivals of abroad, while in 2004 it took part in the big parade that happened in the representation of the Exit of Mesologgi in front of the President of the Greek Democracy. The same time it published a CD titled "Musical tradition of Aetomilitsa". In all the big events that it has taking part the association has received excellent criticisms for his appearances.
