The work of the literary men of the period after Second World War


In Larissa, from 1945 to 1967, literary men lived and created in exclusion, in a social loneliness. The literary figures who did not leave in big urban centres (like Damianos Voulgarakis, Vasiliki Papagianni and Makis Lachanas), they suffered – as it is expressed through their discourses, it is very likely that they “hated” their birthplace.

Giannis Negrepontes


Giannis Negrepontes (Larissa, 1930 – Athens, 1991), was the pseudonym of poet Giannis Ksinotroulias. He left Larissa very early and he didn’t keep some special bonds with his birthplace. But the general context of his childhood in Larissa influenced his work.
